“A Piece of Blarney Stone”

The Blarney Stone is a historical stone, or actually part of the Blarney Castle in Ireland where it was believed that kissing the stone can grant you the gift of gab. Yeah, it seems strange in this day and age, but who are we to question tradition? It’s not like I’m saying that Santa Claus doesn’t exist (OOPS!).

There is so much to know about conversation that anyone, even I, could ever realize. You can go though watching talk shows; radio programs; clubs dedicated to public speaking; ordinary conversations; certain rules still apply when it comes to interaction through words. It may sound tedious, I know, but even though it’s your mouth that’s doing the work, your brain works twice as hard to churn out a lot of things you know. So what better way to start learning to be an effective communication is to know the very person closest to you: yourself.

1. What you know.
Education is all about learning the basics, but to be an effective speaker is to practice what you’ve learned. My stint as guest at every Toastmasters’ meeting I go to taught me that we all have our limitations, but that doesn’t mean we can’t learn to keep up and share what we know.

2. Listening.
It’s just as important as asking questions. Sometimes listening to the sound of our own voice can teach us to be a little bit confident with ourselves and to say the things we believe in with conviction. I find that it is better to learn listening skills so that when you do respond, you know how to answer what is actually being asked. Most of us are so concerned with sharing our own ideas, we miss out on how to help others effectively.

3. Humility
We all make mistakes, and sometimes we tend to slur our words, stutter, and probably mispronounce certain words even though we know what it means, but rarely use it only to impress listeners. So in a group, don’t be afraid to ask if you’re saying the right word properly and if they’re unsure about it then make a joke out of it. I promise you it’ll make everyone laugh and you can get away with it as well.

4. Eye Contact
There’s a lot to say when it comes to directing your attention to your audience with an eye-catching gaze. It’s important that you keep your focus when talking to a large group in a meeting or a gathering, even though he or she may be gorgeous.

5. Kidding around
A little bit of humor can do wonders to lift the tension, or worse boredom when making your speech. That way, you’ll get the attention of the majority of the crowd and they’ll feel that you’re just as approachable, and as human to those who listen.

6. Be like the rest of them
Interaction is all about mingling with other people. You’ll get a lot of ideas, as well as knowing what people make them as they are.

7. Me, Myself, and I
Admit it, there are times you sing to yourself in the shower. I know I do! Listening to the sound of your own voice while you practice your speech in front of a mirror can help correct the stress areas of your pitch. And while you’re at it you can spruce up as well.

8. With a smile
A smile says it all much like eye contact. There’s no point on grimacing or frowning in a meeting or a gathering, unless it’s a wake. You can better express what you’re saying when you smile. I used to be in radio and did you know that people know if you’re smiling or not even when they don’t see you? It’s true!

9. A Role Model
There must be at least one or two people in your life you have listened to when they’re at a public gathering or maybe at church. Sure they read their lines, but taking a mental note of how they emphasize what they say can help you once you take center stage.

10. Preparation
Make the best out of preparation rather than just scribbling notes and often in a hurried panic. Some people like to write things down on index cards, while other resort to being a little more silly as they look at their notes written on the palm of their hand (not for clammy hands, please). Just be comfortable with what you know since you enjoy your work.

And that about wraps it up. These suggestions are rather amateurish in edgewise, but I’ve learned to empower myself when it comes to public or private speaking and it never hurts to be with people to listen how they make conversations and meetings far more enjoyable as well as educational.

Oh, One more thing. I guess this makes it 11 Ways…When you do speak publically, something I keep in mind is not the size of the crowd…I’m speaking to only One person. There’s a couple of reasons for this: The first one is the fear factor. Some of us are terrified to get up and speak to a large gathering. Just look at it as speaking to a friend and some of the fear goes away. The other reason is that those listening feel a more intimate connection with you and relate to what you’re saying much more than just listening to a lecture. (I used this technique both publically and on the radio.)

Have you had that experience when all of a sudden you just had this huge hunch that something is about to happen, and to your surprise, that intuition was eventually translated to reality?

When you feel strongly about something without logical basis to it, that’s called intuition. It comes in three impressions: clairvoyance or “the third eye”, sensing clearly and feeling through listening.

Clairvoyance is when your eye goes beyond what it can see. This is when you know what is happening somewhere.

Sensing clearly is basically what we refer to as “hunch” or “gut feel.” This is the time when you are overwhelmed with a feeling and you can’t explain it and all you can say is “I just know.”

On the other hand, feeling through listening or clairaudience is being able to “listen” between the lines. Intuition also happens at times when a certain sound, whatever it is – be it a car’s honk or a bird’s twitting – ushers in an intense feeling.

They say only a number of people are gifted with intuition. Astrologers even insist that people born under the Scorpio or Pisces signs are naturally intuitive it almost borders on E.S.P. But studies have been sprouting left and right that proclaim that anyone can develop intuition.

Why the need to develop intuition, you ask? Why not let your emotional and psychological state as it is? First and foremost, intuition promotes good communication. It makes you more sensitive to the people around you; it often keeps you from hurting those you love because you are intuitive enough to understand them. Intuition also makes you far more creative than ever. Intuition means releasing more creative juices for any means of expression. Lastly, intuition has a healing power. This healing power is not in the physical sense, but in delving deep into your soul to eradicate some negative energy buried in it.

With that being said, are you ready to develop your intuition? Here are some ways to unlock this gift:

1. Hypnosis

Oh yes, get yourself hypnotized. Hypnosis is not limited to watching a pendulum move back and forth. Perform self-hypnosis or you can avail of hypnotic programs that can strengthen your intuition. A form of hypnosis and meditation I’ve experimented with is audio entrainment. Entrainment is defined as the synchronization of two or more rhythmic cycles. The purpose is to synchronize your conscious and subconscious mind (to become single-minded). The program I used was Manifestation Meditation. (I am not an affiliate)

2. Meditation

Meditating means finding peace in yourself. If your mind and heart are cluttered with too many baggage and hurt, you wouldn’t be able to quiet down that part of you that could eventually initiate intuition. There are so many ways to meditate: take a yoga class, or just simply practice some breathing that could bring you straight to Zen.

3. Think positive!

A worry-free, fear-free state could do so much to improve your intuitive ability. By staying positive, you attract good energy that would be able to easily recognize imminent feelings and events.

4. Just let go.

What does this mean? If you are on the brink of making a huge decision, let go of all the inhibitions and head to a quiet place where you could find out where the letting go has brought you. Sometimes you just have to listen to the voice within you, and that voice wouldn’t come out unless you let go.

5. Never expect OR expect a miracle

After letting go of the inhibitions and all those things that stop you from thinking and feeling clearly, never expect for an answer right away. Never expect that the “hunch” would fall on your lap immediately. Give it a little time then you’d just get surprised that — wham! — now you have your answer. OR The other line of thought on this is to expect it to happen. No good thing does God (or the universe) with-hold. You’ll have to see which method works well for you.

6. Believe in your first impressions.

When you see someone for the first time and think that he is a bit too arrogant for your taste, chances are that impression actually holds true. Most of the time, first impressions are brought by intuition.

7. Stay happy!

See? All you need to be intuitive is to stay happy! Happiness attracts immense power and such power includes intuition. In tapping your intuition, your motivation must be happiness and contentment. Given that premise, intuition will fall to you easily.

Intuition is helpful, because sometimes it leads you to something that cannot be achieved otherwise. A lot of lives have been saved by intuition alone. Decisions are easier done if armed by this gift. Develop intuition now and reap benefits you have never imagined.

As a side note, I’ve found that this is where I connect with God (the Universe). I just got back into using my intuition after not even considering it for several years. I always considered myself to be too busy! What a lie!

How You Can Find the Financial Success You're Seeking

=====================================================

Not long ago, I received a question from a customer that
went something like this (I've edited out the personal
details):

"Tony, I would really like to ask you a question and
hopefully you will provide me a very honest answer."

"I see many different opportunities available everyday via
the mail, email, media, promotions, ebooks, etc."

"Tony, I have a family to support and I want you to know
that I am a born-again Christian and have a very good
personal relationship with Jesus everyday of my life."

"My problem is that I have searched and searched and I
continue to search for a way to earn a good living for my
family so my wife can quit working. HOW can I truly find the
prosperity that God promises and wants for his children?
What can I do in life?"

"I just got fired today after trying in-home sales and not
meeting my monthly quota! I am NOT a high pressure salesman,
but I do want to provide people with a good product or
service. I really need to find a solution! Is it to start a
website and provide info or products? I would GREATLY
appreciate your honest answer!"

This question really boils down to...

"What can or should I *do* in life to find the financial
success I'm seeking for me and my family?"

It's an excellent question and one I'm asked practically
every single day in one way or another.

In his book "The Personal Power Course", Wallace D. Wattles,
best known for his classic masterpiece "The Science of
Getting Rich", wrote:

"... you must know what you want to do. First, choose your
business. Choose the one that seems most in line with your
tastes, and which will require the use of your strongest
faculties. Select for your life work the thing you most WANT
to do. Do not become possessed by the idea that you must be
fixed by circumstances in some business or profession which
you do not like, and barred out from the one which you WOULD
like. Even though you are making money, you are not
successful so long as you are doing something you do not
like to do, and not doing the thing you want to do. The man
who feels that he is misplaced is neither wealthy nor
successful. Perhaps the most essential part of wealth-
culture consists in finding the place where you will be
happy in your work. If you are not happy in your work, you
are a slave."

And, therein lies the key...

If you want to get rich, however you define rich for
yourself, it's vitally important for you to decide what
*you* want to do based on what you *like* to do.

Here's the deal...

You can get rich in *any* business or profession.

Let me repeat that...

You can get rich in *any* business or profession!

Don't believe me?

Just take a look around you and you'll see there are people
who got rich in *every* conceivable business and profession.

No further proof is necessary.

So...

Since it's obvious you can get rich in any business or
profession, why not chose a business or profession which you
like?

You see...

Most people have this backwards. They put the "cart before
the horse", so to speak.

They decide they want to get rich and immediately start
looking for a way or ways to make more money without any
regard whatsoever to what they like to do or, just as
important, what they *don't* like to do.

In other words...

They look for a business or profession to get into based
purely on the money they think they can make.

Now...

This may work for some.

However...

It's never worked for me.

Whenever I've done anything purely for the money, which is
exactly what I spent the majority of my life doing, not only
was I absolutely miserable in the process but every single
time, without exception, I failed!

So...

My "honest answer" is this...

First...

Ignore *all* the so-called "opportunities" floating around
out there. More often than not, these so-called
"opportunities", regardless of whether they're online or
offline "opportunities", are nothing more than the
opportunity for someone else to get your hard-earned money!

Second...

Sit down and decide what it is *you* like to do.

Third...

*Think* of a way or ways to earn money doing what you like
to do.

Although you may have to develop some abilities, skills, or
talents to earn money doing what you like to do and/or you
may have to temporarily do something you don't like to do to
earn money while you're working towards earning money doing
what you like to do...

Ultimately...

Doing what you like to do, combined with constructive
thought and constructive action, will bring you the
financial success you're seeking for you and your family.

“What Really Makes You Tick?” 10 questions you should ask to yourself: a preparation to self-improvement for the New Year.

Be all you can be, but it’s not always in the Army. I often see myself as somewhat contented with my life the way things are, but of course it’s hard to think of anything else when where are real issues to be discussed.

Still I aspire for something deeper and more meaningful.

So we’re all pelted with problems. Honestly it shouldn’t even bother or even hinder us to becoming all we ought to be. Aspirations as kids should continue to live within us, even though it would be short-lived or as long as we could hold on to the dream. They say you can’t teach an old dog new tricks… or can they?

1. What do I really want?
The question of the ages. So many things you want to do with your life and so little time to even go about during the day. I personally had been so “busy” that I never took the time to think about it. Don’t do what I did or you will live your life only for others, giving up your own power of your destiny.

Find something that you are good at can help realize that small step towards improvement. Diligence is the key to know that it is worth it. Find something YOU are passionate about; this will keep you motivated.

2. Should I really change?
Today’s generation has taken another level of redefining ’self’, or at least that’s what the kids are saying. Having worked with kids of all ages has taught me that there are far worse things that they could have had than acne or maybe even promiscuity. So how does that fit into your lifestyle?

If history has taught us one thing, it’s the life that we have gone through. Try to see if partying Seventies style wouldn’t appeal to the younger generation, but dancing is part of partying. Watch them applaud after showing them how to really dance than break their bones in break-dancing.

3. What’s the bright side in all of this?
With so much is happening around us there seem to be no room for even considering that light at the end of the tunnel. We can still see it as something positive without undergoing so much scrutiny. And if it’s a train at the end of the tunnel, take it for a ride and see what makes the world go round!

4. Am I comfortable with what I’m doing?
There’s always the easy way and the right way when it comes to deciding what goes with which shoes, or purse, shirt and whatnot. It doesn’t take a genius to see yourself as someone unique, or else we’ll all be equally the same in everything we do. Variety brings in very interesting and exciting questions to be experimented.

5. Have I done enough for myself?
Have you, or is there something more you want to do? Discontentment in every aspect can be dangerous in large doses, but in small amounts you’ll be able to see and do stuff you could never imagine doing. It may be out of your comfort zone but that makes life exciting. Try doing something different.

6. Am I happy at where I am today?
It’s an unfair question so let it be an answer! You love being a good and loving mom or dad to your kids, then take it up a notch! Your kids will love you forever. The same goes with everyday life!

7. Am I appealing to the opposite sex?
So maybe I don’t have an answer to that, but that doesn’t mean I can’t try it, though. Whether you shape-up, change the way you wear your clothes or hair, or even your attitude towards people, you should always remember it will always be for your own benefit.

8. How much could I have?
I suppose in this case there is no such things on having things too much or too little, but it’s more on how badly you really need it. I’d like to have lots of money, no denying that, but the question is that how much are you willing to work for it?

9. What motivates me?
What motivates you? It’s an answer you have to find out for yourself. There are so many things that can make everyone happy, but to choose one of them may be the hardest part. It’s not like you can’t have one serving of your favorite food in a buffet and that’s it. Just try it piece by piece.

10. What Really Makes You Tick?
So? What really makes you tick? You can be just about anything you always wanted to be, but to realize that attaining something that may seem very difficult is already giving up before you even start that journey. Always remember, that self-improvement is not just about the physical or philosophical change you have to undergo, but it’s something that you really want.

It’s the beginning of a New Year and a new decade. Do yourself a favor and take some time today to answer these questions for yourself. Don’t stop there either. Make a plan to carry out these ideas and do it. Your life will much happier and your self confidence will grow.

Genuine Happiness Comes from Within

Life isn’t the sweetest candy. Sometimes, when I feel like the world is just too heavy, I look around and find people who continued to live fascinating and wonderful lives. And then thoughts come popping into my mind like bubbles from nowhere – “How did their life become so adorably sweet? How come they still can manage to laugh and play around despite a busy stressful life?” Then I pause and observed for awhile… I figured out that maybe, they start to work on a place called ‘self’.

So, how does one become genuinely happy? Step 1 is to love yourself.

My theology professor once said that “loving means accepting.” To love oneself means to accept that you are not a perfect being, but behind the imperfections must lie a great ounce of courage to be able to discover ways on how to improve your repertoire to recover from our mistakes.

Genuine happiness also pertains to contentment. When you are contented with the job you have, the way you look, with your family, your friends, the place you live in, your car, and all the things you now have – truly, you know the answer to the question “how to be genuinely happy.”

When we discover a small start somewhere from within, that small start will eventually lead to something else, and to something else. But if you keep questioning life lit it has never done you any good, you will never be able to find genuine happiness.

I believe that life is about finding out about right and wrong, trying and failing, wining and losing. These are things that happen as often as you inhale and exhale. Failure, in a person’s life has become as abundant and necessary as air. But this should not hinder us from becoming happy.

How to be genuinely happy in spite all these? I tell you… every time you exert effort to improve the quality of life and your being, whether it is cleaning up your room, helping a friend, taking care of your sick dog, fail on board exams and trying again, life gives you equivalent points for that.

Imagine life as a big score board like those which are used in the NFLs. Every time you take a step forward, you make scoring points. Wouldn’t it be nice to look at that board at the end of each game and think to yourself “Whew! I got a point today. I’m glad I gave it a shot.”, instead of looking at it all blank and murmur “Geez, I didn’t even hit a score today. I wish I had the guts to try out. We could have won!” and then walk away. I keep score by writing down at least 3 things I did that made me feel proud per day… Even the little things like I made a stranger feel good by complimenting them, someone at the checkout counter needed a few cents so as not to have to break a larger bill and give it to them, or even a smile to someone who appeared to be down.

Genuine happiness isn’t about driving the hottest Formula 1 car, nor getting the employee of the year award, earning the highest 13th month pay, or beating the sales quota. Sometimes, the most sought after prizes in life doesn’t always go to the fastest, the strongest, the bravest or not even the best. So, how do you become genuinely happy? Every one has his own definition of ‘happiness’. Happiness for a writer may mean launching as much best selling books as possible. Happiness for a basketball rookie may mean getting the rookie of the year award. Happiness for a beggar may mean a lot of money. Happiness for a business man may mean success. So, really now, how do we become genuinely happy? Simple. You don’t have to have the best things in this world. Its about doing and making the best out of every single thing. When you find yourself smiling at your own mistake and telling your self “Oh, I’ll do better next time”, you carry with you a flame of strong will power to persevere that may spread out like a brush fire. You possess a willingness to stand up again and try – that will make you a genuinely happy person.

Learn to accept yourself and your own faults. This is not as easy as it sounds for some of us. I am my own worst critic and that caused me to have a limiting belief that if I wasn’t perfect, I wasn’t worthy of acceptance. I have finally overcome and replaced that lie using a technique called EFT. As long as you know how to accept others, including yourself, you will also be accepted. For as long as you love and know how to love, you will receive love ten folds back.

Again, throw me that same question “how to become genuinely happy?”. I’ll refer you to a friend of mine who strongly quoted- “Most of us know that laughter is the best medicine to life’s aches and pain. But most of us don’t know that the best kind of laughter is laughter over self. Coz then you don’t just become happy… you become free.”

Authors note: This is the first chapter in my book. I thought you may like the preview of things to come. Enjoy!

Dale Lovett

You are perfectly contented with your life right now. Everything at work or in your business is just wonderful! Everything you set out to do is accomplished within the time frame allotted. You have all the money you want and then some. You live in your dream home, drive your dream car, frequent the nicest restaurants and you hang out with the best people in the world. Your family life and social life couldn’t be better. You have no conflicts with anyone, including yourself and everything describes your life to a tee, please put this book down. It’s not for you. This book is for the rest of us who have yet to attain such utopia.

First of all, we must take full responsibility for where we are right now. We can NOT blame or congratulate anyone else for our current circumstances. Yes, other peoples decisions and actions do affect our lives but it’s up to us how we respond to them. We decide whether to use them to hinder us or propel us toward our destination.

Do You Like The Results You Are Getting?

So, look at your life. Have your decisions brought you to exactly where you want to be? If you’re like me, you’re not. We are not getting all the desired results. Let’s explore.

These questions will help you get to where you want to go from where you are right now. Where are you? You must know where you are right now to begin this journey. If you don’t know this you’ll not know what direction to take your first step. As you’ve suspected, this is a process and not an overnight sensation. Where do you want to be? Your vision must be clear and concise, otherwise, how will you know when you have arrived? It’s just like using “Mapquest”. You first type in the address of your starting point; enter the address of your destination and viola! It lays out the course right before your eyes. If you’ve actually tried to follow the directions, you’ve found that it does not always take into consideration any new detours due to construction. The same is true in our pursuit of happiness. However, if your destination is clear, you will find landmarks along the way to assure you that you’re on the right track (or off course). This assessment is something that should be done on a regular basis. It’s better to find out that you’ve veered off course sooner than later.

Are you ready to actually ask and answer these questions for yourself? You may have to get off by yourself somewhere and do this. I suggest writing down your answers or keep a journal to track your progress, analyze what’s helping or hindering you and take the appropriate actions. If you are serious about getting ahead, these simple steps are NOT an option; they are a requirement! If not implemented, you will remain on the path you’re on now that leads to results you do not want.

Where am I?

There are a few areas of your life that you need to address

your work/business

your relationships

your family

your finances

entertainment

Think of each of these in a wheel. I want you to draw a circle (wheel) with spokes. Between each spoke, label each of the areas listed above. Now evaluate each section according to where you are now, the outer rim being perfect, the center being the worst. Draw a line at the point you see yourself. (Again, don’t just read this, DO IT)

How does it look? Did you identify your strengths; your weaknesses? If you were to roll that wheel, would you get stuck? I would. There are some areas of my life that needs more work than others and I bet it’s the same with your life. Our goal is to have a well rounded life so we get to where we’re going as quickly as we can. We’ve got to concentrate on the places that make us stuck first. As we get the results we want, the ride may still be a bit bumpy but we can keep rolling as we work toward our destination.

Can you see why it’s so important to know where we are now? Can you see the first step toward where you want to go?

Here is the key to unlock everything. This is not in bold print (maybe it should be) but is a significant nugget. This will not be easy to swallow but is imperative for you to comprehend to grow as a person.

Like it or not, your life is exactly as you have made it. You are the architect of your life, good or bad. All of your problems were created by you and you alone; not by your partner, your parents, your boss, anyone. All of your successes were created by you, not by luck or chance.

It is critical that you understand that nobody else is to blame for your troubles. Until you accept this as fact, and until you stop blaming others for your problems, you will not be able to create a better life for yourself. I know this is difficult for you (as it was for me) but once you do, a whole new world with unlimited possibilities will open up for you.

Now before you start condemning yourself, or feeling guilty, know that you’ve been forgiven already. If the Creator of the universe has forgiven you, you MUST NOT hold on to the guilt or shame you may be feeling. He has come that YOU may have LIFE and Life abundantly. This is a free gift and we must not refuse such a valuable gift. This is a matter of life or death!

What Do You Value in Life?

There are many definitions for the word value, but for the purposes of this writing, we will associate it with degree of excellence and to rate in usefulness or importance.

“Do unto others as you would have them do unto you,” is a value most would agree to. Another would be “Love people and use money.” When someone lives outside their own value system, or the one they were brought up with, there is an internal conflict. Basically, we become at war with ourselves, and this is manifested in several different ways. You tend to surround yourself with those of like values. You seldom see a hardened criminal hanging out at church functions unless he/she had a life changing experience where their core value system changed. Nor would you go into business with someone known for working shady deals or is a thief.

Why are values important in your life? This is the baseline from which all decisions are made; a code of ethics as you will. You make a decision in line with your values, you feel good about your decision. If you make one not in line with them, you feel those red flags go up and hopefully, you’ll change your mind. If you don’t, the decision will catch up with you at some point. That bad little seed will take root and grow into a bad plant, bush or tree.

Have you ever thought about what your values are? How does one identify values? The simplest way is ask yourself, “What’s important to me?” It could be your family, your relationships, your job or your business. Another way to identify them is find out what you admire in others. That is a pretty good indication of what your values are.

What do You Want?

May I be candid with you for a moment? In answering this question for myself, I nearly hit a brick wall. I had spent so long living for others, I lost site of what I wanted! You see, back many years ago, I adopted the value of others first, me last. Through my religious training, I thought that this was the “right” way to be. I did not take into consideration that I was to love my neighbor as myself. I loved my neighbors, but I did not love myself. The longer I lived for others without consideration for myself, I ended up not even liking or respecting myself. My self esteem was rock bottom. Upon the foundation of living for others, I built another false belief, I didn’t deserve whatever I wanted. This was buried so deeply within me, I had to have a coach, bring it to the surface so I can identify and reshape this value into a useful one. I’m still peeling back the layers I’ve built for myself to get free of them to this day. In it’s place I’m building a value whereby I love myself (as I should). Since I can love myself, I’m free to decide what I want apart from what anyone else’s opinion.

OK, your turn. I sure hope you don’t have that kind of conflict! So, what do YOU want? What are YOUR dreams? What does this question mean?

Let’s start with your physical surroundings. Picture in your mind you living in your dream house. What does it look like? How many rooms does it have? Describe the kitchen and living room in detail, from what your cabinets look like and the color of your furniture. Where is your dream house? Is your dream car parked outside or is it in the garage? What are you doing? Be as vivid as you can during this daydream. Who is with you? Stretch your mind and imagine how you truly want to live

What if I can’t have it? Get that thought right out of your head NOW! It is a lie from the pit of hell. Pardon my language but it truly is. If you can dream it you CAN have it. Everything starts as a thought. That thought is the first step to acquiring anything you want.

The question really is how badly do you want it?

Now it’s time to put the greatest computer ever created (the one between your ears) to work. Now that you’ve determined what you want, the next question is HOW?

Did you know that your mind doesn’t know the difference between fantasy and reality? With this knowledge, even what seems impossible becomes possible with your problem solving brain. Just look at all of the technology we have now that we take for granted; TV, computer that fits on our lap, even the light bulb. Not too long ago, these were all thought to be impossible. I’m glad that these guys didn’t listen. As you go for your dreams, you shouldn’t listen either. A way will be made where there is no way! That includes where the money is coming from to pay for your dream.

Perhaps part of your dream is to be an inventor, own your own business, be a writer or even be a rock star. ALL things are possible to those who believe. What if I can’t make money doing it? You can make money doing anything. I will talk more about this in the Money chapter . (put in chapter name)

Who am I, what do I want, what is my purpose?

These are the three most powerful questions you could ask yourself. When you answer these questions, truthfully and honestly, you will have your answers to life and will know beyond a shadow of doubt that you have what it takes to be successful in any endeavor.

In discovering who you are, you will find that you are an incredible being, made in the image of the Creator of the Universe. You are spirit (energy), that can think, reason and feel emotions, (soul) and you reside in a body. All three of these parts exist as one that makes each one of us unique and special. I have much to say about this but that will be for another book. Right now, I’m just covering some basics. Learning about yourself is extremely important because everything in your life starts with you. You create your own life by choosing which thoughts to dwell on, which actions to take and you choose how you respond to outside influences. You choose your values, what’s important to you, the direction of your life and even the steps to get there. Our Creator has given each of us free will.

The next question is what do you want? Only you can answer this one. Based on who you are, your strengths and weaknesses, likes and dislikes, interests and things that excite you, you make that decision. As I said earlier, this was tough for me. I had to experiment with a few things to find out what I wanted. It may be the same for you but when you find out, then you know what you’re looking for and you also find your purpose.

Your purpose is the why behind your desire. Again, only you can determine that and only you can fulfill your purpose.

You may be saying, “I know what I want and every time I go after it, I get burned or I don’t get the results I’m after.” Anyone Can Change Their Results. If you’re struggling to make money on line or recruit people into your business, there is a way to be successful.

The sure way to Fail is to not even try

If you have tried, and failed before, please don’t be alarmed. It is common during the learning process. All that needs to be done is to use what you’ve learned as a stepping stone to repeat what worked and eliminate what didn’t. It is best if you start out with a proven system; one that has been used successfully and is duplicatable.

One mistake that most of us make is we try to sell the product/service and not the system. Without a system in place for those who do sign up to follow, failure is a sure thing! This person will probably get very discouraged and drop out. Then they will say it doesn’t work. However, if you sell them on “how to”, then they can use that to be successful over and over again!

How do I begin? You begin by taking the first step! Here is a link to a PROVEN system that anyone, even you, can follow even if you have a limited budget. There is absolutely no hype or fluff. It is simple and straight forward. Watch this video right now!

The Choice Is Yours. What if I tried before and failed? Everyone Fails, let the dead bury the dead. The biggest reason is your mindset. Much of what is written in this book has to do with the correct mindset which will guarantee your success. You failed because you tried, trying is failure with a nicer name. You must believe you receive (in present tense). We will be dealing with that issue in detail as this IS the largest stumbling block we all face. Get our attitude adjusted correctly and then NOTHING will be impossible.

by Tony Mase
Last summer, while waiting for my son to finish up an
activity he was involved in, I was approached by a gal I
vaguely knew as the mother of one of the other kids involved
in the activity who was there to pick her son up as well.

“Well,” she said to me rather angrily, “I was laid off
today.”

“Really,” I replied, “I’m very sorry to hear that.”

“You know,” she said, “I knew it. I positively knew I’d be
the first one to be laid off when there were layoffs at my
company.”

Not really wanting to hear all the gory details, I remained
silent.

“So what if I’m not on time every day and I leave early a
lot, I’ve got a life you know,” she continued, “and so what
if I’m not always doing their work, I’ve got other things to
do you know, at least I’m there.”

Well…

With the “official” unemployment rate here in the United
States recently creeping up over ten percent, it got me to
thinking of this brief encounter and what a great model it
is for those who want to join the currently growing ranks of
the unemployed.

So…

Here they are…

Based on this proven model…

Three surefire ways to insure you’ll be the next one laid
off should layoffs come to your company:

Surefire Way #1 – Imagine yourself as being laid off and
unemployed.

Mentally, in your imagination, “experience” yourself as
being laid off and unemployed. The more vividly and the more
often you do this the better.

To further reinforce your new mindset, it helps to talk
about getting laid off and being unemployed as often as you
possibly can to as many people as you possibly can.

Surefire Way #2 – Arrive to work late and leave work early.

If you haven’t yet gotten the attention of your employer,
this is a great way to do so.

It also helps, immensely I might add, to expect to be paid
for the time you miss.

Surefire Way #3 – Give your employer less in use value than
you receive in cash value.

Do as little of your employer’s work and as much of your
“stuff”, or absolutely nothing at all, as you possibly can
during work hours thus “stacking the deck in your favor”.

By the way…

As they tend to easily forget…

It helps to remind your employer as often as you can that…

At least you’re there!

Any one of these three ways, in and of itself, is enough to
seriously increase your odds of being laid off should
layoffs come to your company. All three, used in conjunction
with one another, consistently, will almost certainly insure
you a spot in the unemployment line.

In my studies in forming my own mindset for making money, I came across a very unique author. Ted Gambordella is his name. I found him through The Mentors Club (which I highly recommend). He is a holder of several black belts in martial arts as well as a staunch Christian. This is a big plus in my book because it says to me that he’s gone beyond “Churchianity” by being open minded enough to study spirituality from different perspectives. Anyway, what he says in his book makes 100% sense to me. Let’s start off with a quote.

The authors of these books warn us that if we don’t maintain this PMA (Positive Mental Attitudes), we will surely
fail to become successful.. These books are very popular, but why are there so many of
them? If the PMA theory worked, wouldn’t one well-written text be enough? Browse
through any book store and there is an entire section on PMA. You may attend lectures
and seminars or buy tapes on PMA, but you will still be broke, and probably become
frustrated as well.
There are enough problems with PMA to fill a library. This book touches on the
most obvious. More importantly, this book will explain how successful people got that
way, and how you can use the same power to become successful. This power is the same
power that runs the universe. It is called an Obsessive Mental Attitude (OMA). There is
only one reason you have not become successful. It is that YOU HAVE NOT HAD AN
OPPORTUNITY TO BECOME SUCCESSFUL THAT YOU PURSUED WITH AN
OBSESSIVE MENTAL ATTITUDE.
Let me say something that is very important that you understand as you read this
book. Many of you might be thinking, Oh, sure, Obsession is the real secret of success.
Great, I KNEW that already, so what? But you don’t know that; you didn’t know that. If
you are thinking that, you don’t know that at all. What you in fact knew about the mental
secrets of success is all wrong. You believed, and have been led to believe, that the
mental secret to success is to begin with a positive mental attitude, maintain it throughout
your effort, put in the hours, do the work, and you will succeed. That is simply not true;
it is wrong from the start. You may begin with a positive mental attitude, but you cannot
stay positive, put in the hours, and do the work, so you won’t succeed. The proof is
shown in the number of times you have tried in vain to succeed using their program for
success, despite your best PMA efforts.

I too have been falling into that and even actively promoting it! I still do as I find it to have a positive influence on my life but so far, NOT in the areas I want it to ie. making enough money to retire on. I’ve got only 5 years left for that and I spent all of my previous savings for retirement moving to my current location to care for my elderly father who recently passed away. WOW, that was a long sentence! NOW I must become OBSESSIVE! How about you? How do you become obsessive about making money or anything else for that matter? See if what Ted says makes sense to you:

Only when your “dream” is an Obsession will you make it your
possession.
Let me ask you to fill out a better list, instead of writing a list of the things you
would do, if you were sure you could not fail, or if money was no object. Make a list of
the things you would not like to lose at any cost, in fact make a list of the things you
would sacrifice for to keep, and make a list of the things you would die for. This is a real
list of things that you would work to get, and are working to get, and will work to get,
and it doesn’t matter the amount of money necessary, or the time or effort necessary. You
list is your personal list of your Obsessions. For some it may include children, and for
the millionaires it will include your work. For all it will include air, food, water, health,
freedom, security, happiness, a home, etc. The other stuff, the stuff on your “dream PMA
list” is not on this list, and that is why you don’t have it.

With an Obsessive Mental Attitude you will NOT be influenced by either a positive or negative thought. They will be deflected but you remain steadfast on what your obsession is, your focus. NOTHING can or will stop you. You will not give up when discouraged because you will get what you are obsessed about no matter what! Think of any really successful person you know. Do they possess this quality? You bet they do!

I hope this has helped you see that you are NOT a failure. You need only to incorporate obsession to achieve your desires. Hmmm, Now the question is “How badly DO I want what I want?”

I haven’t been around for a while because I was on a fabulous vacation with my daughter’s family. It was an incredible week with my grandchildren ages 4 and 6 to experience Disneyworld. All of us were filled with wonder from each exhibit, the technology, the fountain & fireworks, lasers all choreographed to music. The creativity displayed was truly awe inspiring. It reminded me that each of us has that same creative force residing within us! Imagine what the world would be like if ALL of us tapped into that and actually applied it.

If you have been following this blog at all, you know that I’ve been meeting with a life coach weekly. My main objective with this was to discover the blocks I have set up in my life that are preventing me from manifesting my dreams and desires. One I discovered was my attitude about money. It definitely needed to be changed as I thought about everything from a position of lack. I have learned that that’s just not true! I was actually believing a lie! Other lies I had internalized were that I’m not worthy, I can’t do it, I don’t deserve it….lies, all lies! Can you relate? Here’s a little comparison for you to see where your thinking is about money. Just click here.

Now that these lies have been exposed, what am I going to do about them? I must disassemble the structure that held these false beliefs and create a new one with beliefs that are true. I have a strong faith in God and what was accomplished on the cross of Christ so the Bible is where I find my new beliefs. I’ve known these truths for years but I found out that I really didn’t believe them. Thank God for my coach that helped to expose this! You may not share the same faith as me but the truths I have adopted are true no matter where you come from. Truth is truth, right? This just happens to be the structure I’m using to break down the old belief system (the lies) and rebuilding the new (truth). For lack of better terminology, I have “repented” from the sins of doubt, fear, and unbelief. Every time they try to resurface, I remind myself that they are no longer mine. I’ve laid them down. I immediately affirm my new belief of love, faith, and trust. In the matter of trust, my homework for this week is to learn to trust myself. This is a tough one for me as I have MANY years worth of “no trust” to overcome. I have made many mistakes in my life just as well as everyone else, and they come back to haunt me. I must look at them from another viewpoint. These are lessons in what to not repeat and therefor blessings in disguise. I need to learn to trust my intuition and act upon them immediately.

Another thing in my personal discipline is my DAILY “hour of power”. This is the time I meditate, pray, affirm myself in my new beliefs. This is also when I tell God (or the universe) what I want and get in the right frame of mind to receive it. I used to call it my “quiet time” but it’s not quiet any more. I sing, dance, act out actually possessing that which I desire. One truth for each of us is “when you ask, believe you receive and you shall have it”, is really profound though it sounds simple. Another thing I have learned, when I want something, keep asking why I want it until there are no more whys to ask. This is the essence of my desire and this is what I present on my hour of power. Right now there are things I want to manifest so badly, I’m doing my hour of power twice a day as I have the time to do it. I do it until I feel I have finished directing things into my life knowing that God loves me even more than I love my own children and wants me to be happy. I have also learned that I direct everything in my life, whether good or bad, so I’m making sure I’m consciously directing good toward me by giving out love, trust and faith.
