Where Are You?

Written on September 8th, 2009 by adminComments

You are perfectly contented with your life right now. Everything at work or in your business is just wonderful! Everything you set out to do is accomplished within the time frame allotted. You have all the money you want and then some. You live in your dream home, drive your dream car, frequent the nicest restaurants and you hang out with the best people in the world. Your family life and social life couldn’t be better. You have no conflicts with anyone, including yourself and everything is going your way…Right?!! Oh, and you can hop in your jet and go anywhere you want to go whenever you want as well as anyone else you decide to take with you!

If this describes your life to a tee, please put this book down. It’s not for you. This book is for the rest of us who have yet to attain such utopia.

First of all, we must take full responsibility for where we are right now. We can NOT blame or congratulate anyone else for our current circumstances. Yes, other peoples decisions and actions do affect our lives but it’s up to us how we respond to them. We decide whether to use them to hinder us or propel us toward our destination.

Do You Like The Results You Are Getting?

So, look at your life. Have your decisions brought you to exactly where you want to be? If you’re like me, you’re not. We are not getting all the desired results. Let’s explore.

These questions will help you get to where you want to go from where you are right now. Where are you? You must know where you are right now to begin this journey. If you don’t know this you’ll not know what direction to take your first step. As you’ve suspected, this is a process and not an overnight sensation. Where do you want to be? Your vision must be clear and concise, otherwise, how will you know when you have arrived? It’s just like using “Mapquest”. You first type in the address of your starting point; enter the address of your destination and viola! It lays out the course right before your eyes. If you’ve actually tried to follow the directions, you’ve found that it does not always take into consideration any new detours due to construction. The same is true in our pursuit of happiness. However, if your destination is clear, you will find landmarks along the way to assure you that you’re on the right track (or off course). This assessment is something that should be done on a regular basis. It’s better to find out that you’ve veered off course sooner than later.

Are you ready to actually ask and answer these questions for yourself? You may have to get off by yourself somewhere and do this. I suggest writing down your answers or keep a journal to track your progress, analyze what’s helping or hindering you and take the appropriate actions. If you are serious about getting ahead, these simple steps are NOT an option; they are a requirement! If not implemented, you will remain on the path you’re on now that leads to results you do not want.

Where am I?

There are a few areas of your life that you need to address:

  • your work/business

  • your relationships

  • your family

  • your finances

  • entertainment

Think of each of these in a wheel. I want you to draw a circle (wheel) with spokes. Between each spoke, label each of the areas listed above. Now evaluate each section according to where you are now, the outer rim being perfect, the center being the worst. Draw a line at the point you see yourself. (Again, don’t just read this, DO IT)

How does it look? Did you identify your strengths; your weaknesses? If you were to roll that wheel, would you get stuck? I would. There are some areas of my life that needs more work than others and I bet it’s the same with your life. Our goal is to have a well rounded life so we get to where we’re going as quickly as we can. We’ve got to concentrate on the places that make us stuck first. As we get the results we want, the ride may still be a bit bumpy but we can keep rolling as we work toward our destination.

Can you see why it’s so important to know where we are now? Can you see the first step toward where you want to go?

10th Degree Black Belt – Breakthrough

Written on August 8th, 2009 by adminComments

I normally don’t post on the week end but I wanted to share with you some points if interest from a lecture by Dr. Stan Harris. This is meant primarily for those of you who have a home business or those who are considering it.
In case you don’t know who Dr. Harris is, here’s a short bio:

“Dr. Stan Harris is a 10th degree Black Belt and a Breakthrough Specialist. His powerful trainings can help you to achieve things you may have never dreamed of and he is dedicated to your success. Dr. Stan is known for his exciting demonstrations and trainings where he breaks Concrete Blocks and shows people how to “Breakthrough” the barriers that stop them from success!”

Here are the 7 points with a brief explanation:

Work on Yourself, Then Work the System
What you put into your heart and mind is what you get placed into your ‘hand. I’m sure you heard the phrase, Garbage in – Garbage Out. What you allow into your being, what you think about, is what you actually receive. If you think from the lack perspective, you GET lack. If you think from the It’s mine now perspective, you Get gain. Only YOU can determine your thoughts and the results of those thoughts. ONLY YOU have that choice. Remember that what you sow, that shall you also reap. It is cause and effect.
After you get your mind/heart in order, then you work the system of the company you’re working with.
Save
Your
Self
Time
Energy
Money
Stress

Build a Network – Not a Career
Success is not reached by what you know. By building relationships with people, you are able to draw upon others strength (and visa-versa) to help the entire team. You loose out by going it alone and just building your own career. Give, and it shall be given unto you…pressed down, shaken together and overflowing…

Be a Product of Your Product
Dr. Harris explains that when you just try to sell your product or service, people turn you off. I know I do. You have to use your own product or service and just share from you heart, YOUR personal experience; no pressure, no hype, just truth. Talk your own story. They can make up their own minds.

Concentrate on Providing Solutions, NOT Sales
People don’t want to be sold to, but they do want their problem solved and are willing to pay for it.

Learn to Move People who can Move Products
When you find this gem, make sure you nurture this person to help him/her to progress even more. This causes everyone to win.

Look for Those Who are Looking for You
This is just plain market research. Find the need, then fill it.

How to NEVER get a No Answer
Say it First! It’s amazing how attitudes change when you try to take something away!

These were the 7 points of interest. Dr. Harris ended with a couple of really good tips:
Spend Maximum Time with Maximum People
Spend Minimal Time with Minimal Projects
In other words, you should be spending MOST of your time with people…not projects. After all, it’s people we should be serving!

Make Room For YOUR Passion

Written on July 29th, 2009 by adminComments

In deciding to what to write about today, I was really wishing I knew what topics you wanted covered. I have asked for input in the past but have received none:-( My choice today was between a couple of topics and I settled on this one.  “Make room for your passion”. This is the next topic in a series of videos I’m working on.  The first one is posted on YouTube.com/mrsmaxxx called Who Are You?

In considering what next step I was going to take in my own personal development walk, this idea came to me twice in a 24 hour period.  I will let you know right off the bat, I’m not some “guru” on the subject though this is my goal.  What you are reading in these blogs are the very steps I’m taking in my personal journey toward living my passion.  The very beginning of my passion began when I was a child and it’s explained in my video Who Are You. If you are just joining me, I welcome you to embark upon this journey with me.  I’d love to have your company and please, leave a comment, subscribe to my list to see what else I have for you.

Yesterday, I got a phone call from a personal life coach which I had filled out an application for quite some time ago.  In our conversation, I said what areas in my life I wanted to concentrate on first.  It’s about finances & money.  You see, I was brought up with a Dad who lived through the depression era, thus the poverty mental.  I ALWAYS looked at money from a poor person’s perspective…the result…I was poor.  Like attracted like.  I knew I needed to change my attitude concerning money.  I can’t make the amount I want and still hang onto debilitating and wrong beliefs.   Coincidently, I received a CD-rom in the mail from Robert Kiyosaki, the author of “Rich Dad, Poor Dad a couple of days ago too.   H-mmm.  This morning, as I was going through another course in MLMLeadSystemsPRO and the training section, the topic was on throwing out the old ineffective habits for new productive ones.

This weeks exercise was to go through and thoroughly clean, your office or workspace, your house and your car.  The object of this exercise was to see what kind of person you are…to watch your own reactions to the tasks at hand.  This will tell you MUCH about the kind of person you are and how you approach things in life;  including your business.  You will discover your life’s pattern by just observing yourself complete these simple tasks.  Sides, by eliminating the clutter in your physical space, will eliminate some clutter in your mind as well.  You’ll discover that if you get it all finished within a couple of days, this is how you’ll work in your business, house chores, anything.  If you wait until the last minute, then hurry to get it done, and probably not as well as if you took your time to do it right, you’re a procrastinator.  You start out gung-ho, then stop in the middle (and probably never get back to it); you do just enough cleaning to get by (it’s cleaner now than it was, but not primo), this too is a reflection of how you live your life.

Recognize these traits in this exercise that you posess, now you know what areas to concentrate on, to be aware of and correct, to move ahead toward your passion.  Take some time out to do some mind housecleaning.  If you don’t ever want to stop and quit at some point, something is wrong!  What keeps you going through thick AND thin, is your passion.  Clean house and allow room for your passion to grow.
