Finding Fruit from my Mental Make-over

Written on August 4th, 2009 by adminComments

I hope you had a fantastic week-end! Sorry this is a little late in getting out to you today as I had several personal duties to perform today and with Great Relief, I’ve completed them! Boy, that feels good. What show was it that in every episode was the statement, “I just love it when a plan comes together!” A good question for all you trivia fans.

Today I,m pretty excited. I’m beginning to see the fruits of my personal mental/spiritual make-over. If you’ve been following my blogs, you’ve seen some disciplines I’ve adopted and implemented. Most of them had to do with my “secret thoughts” and what I have been choosing to entertain in my mind…choosing good thoughts and getting rid of the bad thoughts. This has been my personal war within myself and let me tell you, it is a war.

The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world, we do not wage war as the world does. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds [habitual negative thinking]. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God; and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to God. 2 Cor. 10:4-5

We are told to guard our hearts and minds at all times.  I’m beginning to see why.  Our thoughts and emotions really do affect our circumstances.  I have been experiencing this my entire life and not even realizing it.  When my mind was not being disciplined, my circumstances were not either…and my emotions were all over the map!

Picture your mind like a garden.  If you don’t tend to the garden, weeds spring up and eventually overtake the intended plants.  The weeds choke them out, sapping the sunshine, water and soil nutrients the plants need to survive and thrive.  If you don’t tend to your thinking, the same thing happens in your mind and it’s reflected in your circumstances.  Both good and bad thoughts pop into your head, but YOU choose which ones to think about and which ones to reject.  The more you practice, the easier it becomes to recognize and deal with them.  Just like when you plant corn, (a good thought), you harvest corn (good results).  You make sure the corn is watered, feed and gets Light, keep weeding around it, you’ll see a bountiful harvest, many times over what was planted.  When you plant thistles (bad thoughts), you harvest thistles.  They too multiply usually better than the corn.  Good thoughts produce good results; bad thoughts produce bad results.  That sound logical, eh?

Have you ever noticed that bad thoughts are much easier to entertain than good ones?  We’ve been programmed that way since birth.  I’m sure you can come up with your own analogies on that statement.  That is what I call a stronghold.  Stop feeding it by NOT thinking about it or dwelling on it, then it will eventually die.  You replace the stronghold with good, positive thoughts immediately when you recognize it, thus feeding the good thoughts and causing it to grow instead.  I have even learned how to change a bad thought into a good thought merely by changing my perspective; looking at it from another point of view, then entertaining that thought!

What results have I been seeing lately?  I’m glad you asked.  The first result has been my attitude.  My confidence level has been growing by leaps and bounds;  the mountain of fear IS moving, I’ve never been happier and my JOY is beginning to overflow!  Have you heard the song “The JOY of the Lord is my Strength”?  Well, that’s my song today!  The second result pertains to my  internet business.  People are beginning to sign up!

Blessings and Prosperity,

Dale

What you do today helps determine what your tomorrow will be

Today’s post is going to be a little different.  This one is about a real life situation happening right now.  Actually, it’s about two of my good friends.

One of my friends, just lost his apartment through no fault of his own.  His landlord went into forclosure and did not tell him.  He found out by receiving a notice telling him to move out in 10 days!  The bank was taking over the property and didn’t want any tenents in the building.  Where I live, that is legal I guess.  Luckily, he is one one of the few construction workers in this area who still has a job so he was able to find another place.  Since jobs are rare in his industry here, he is one of the lucky ones!

Another friend of mine is not so lucky.  She lost her job through company downsizing, even though she had been there for years.  Unemployment isn’t enough to cover the bills.  Her boyfriend, to help her, is selling his semi-trailer since his company just went out of business.  Now he can’t even go back into business even if he found another trucking company to work for.  He’s driving for a small local company and is now in danger of loosing his job too.

Talk about doom and gloom of this economy!  If only they had a plan B.  I’m not going to force my business down their throats even though I know it would help them.  They know what I do and they know that my offer is there to help them help themselves.  I hate being sold to unless I ask, and I extend that courtesy to others.  I do pray for them to find a way and offer encouragement.

Do you know anyone in that position or are you yourself there?  Do you have a plan B just in case it happens to you?  What you do today helps determine what your tomorrow will be.  Plan ahead.
