Yesterday, during my own scheduled personal development time (I’d rather do this than watch TV) I watched an interview with Mike Dillard and Jay Kubassek. If you don’t know, these guys both became multi-millionaires using the internet. Mike’s claim to fame is the Magnetic Sponsoring System, which was one of the first systems out to use the “Law of Attraction” method of business building. Jay was another one. His baby is Carbon Copy Pro. Both started from nothing and worked their way up to their present status. I don’t know about you but I like to study successful people because I want to be successful.
A little side note: My husband was sitting next to me as was listening to some of what they were saying. He thinks it’s ALL Hogwash. I can’t wait to prove him otherwise! I am now to the point in life where I know I can and I am becoming successful. I’ve spent this past year just working on myself, not only with my mindset and attitudes but also learning different marketing techniques, a few technical skills, though I’ve got a really loooong way to go with that one. Basically, I was increasing my personal value. If my mission in life is to help people to live a happy and productive life, I had to know what I really have to offer and strengthen those attributes. Then I began to see some of the ares of my life where I needed total attitude adjustments. I’ve been working on those too. My husband Danny, doesn’t consider my training as work, though he would if I was working for someone else and had to do it. Go figure. His proof of my passion is the money. To me, that’s just a by product of pursuing my passion.
Back to the interview…I can’t go into detail but I can give you the basic nuggets.
1. Work on yourself first, then the system.
a. You will never out perform your self image.
b. What you put into your heart and mind is what you end up getting in your hands.
c. Associate with successful people; listen to them. They gave a little exercise to help determine who not to listen to: Make a list of people in your circle of influence and about how much they make (income). Are they where you want to be? Consider this when they try to talk you out of becoming an entrepreneur. Do you want to listen to them?
2. Discover a system that works for you. Here is the basic system you can start with.
a. Capture People’s Attention (lead generation)
b. Build Trust and Relationships
c. Provide Social Proof and Examples
d. Remove the Risk
e. Provide Incentives and Special Offers
f. Sift, Sort and Qualify your Leads
g. Good companies provide a professional call center to close sales since most of us are not adept at this.
h. Duplication = Residual Income.
I personally have not signed up with Carbon Copy Pro, though I am considering it. Here is what I really liked that Jay said:
“If your intention is to sell a product and make money, don’t even get started. You have to be completely honest with yourself. What are your intentions? You don’t GET to become successful and have people line up to work with you just because you want to make money, have a better life, quit your job, get that diamond ring, and take your kids to Disneyland….Your intentions MUST be to empower others and HELP THEM GET WHAT THEY WANT! This is one of the biggest mistakes people make. People are so focused of what they want that they scare off their customers because they are so pathetically needy.”
The moral of the story is work on your self first and KNOW what you have to offer. This will eliminate all your fears, cause you to have a quiet confidence to be More Able to help others.
