In watching my “Six Minutes to Success” video this morning, another very enlightening quote from Napoleon Hill’s book, “Think and Grow Rich“ I was reminded again of the importance of developing your self confidence. I must work on this daily myself and so do most of the people I know. Below is the quote for you to refresh your memory or perhaps this is your first exposure to it. If it is, the title of the book is a link for your free download. Just click on it and save it to your desktop for easy reference.
1. I know that I have the ability to achieve the object of my Definate Purpose in Life, therefore I DEMAND of myself persistant, continuous action toward it’s attainment, and I here and now promise to render such action.
2. I realize the dominating thoughts of my mind will eventually reproduce themselves in outward, physical action, and gradually transform themselves into physical reality; therefore I will concentrate my thoughts for 30 minutes daily upon the task of thinking of the person I intend to become, thereby creating in my mind a clear mental picture of that person.
3. I know the principle of autosuggestion, any desire that I persistently hold in my mind will eventually seek expression through some practical means of attaining the object back of it, therefore I will devote 10 minutes daily to demanding myself the development of self confidence.
4. I have clearly written down a description of my DEFINITE CHIEF AIM in life and I will never stop trying until I have developed sufficient self confidence for it’s attainment.
5. I fully realize that no wealth or position can long endure unless built upon truth and justice, therefore I will engage in NO transaction which does not benefit all whom it affects. I will succeed by attracting to myself the forces I wish to use and the cooperation of other people. I will enduce others to serve me because of my willingness to serve others. I will eliminate hatred, envy, jealousy, selfishness and cynicism by developing love for all humanity, because I know that a negative attitude toward others can never bring me success. I will cause others to believe in me because I believe in them and myself.
I will sign my name to this formula, commit it to memory and repeat it aloud once a day, with FULL FAITH that it will gradually influence my thoughts and actions so that I become a self reliant and successful person.
I want to warn you…reading this quote will NOT do the trick. If you really want to change, you MUST DO IT! Spend some time writing down the person you want to become; every detail and leave nothing out. The clearer you see your Ultimate Self, the easier it will be to become that person. Go back up and download the entire book. It’s a goldmine, literally! And also sign up for Six Minutes to Success.
